everything to know about your boudoir shoot

I know this is totally nerve wracking. When I did it, even I—who is constantly preaching about how fun and wonderful a boudoir shoot is and how everyone should do one—was stressing about if I looked good enough to do a shoot half naked. But the truth is you ARE a sexy and sensual being at any age, any size, regardless of acne or cellulite or whatever your hang up may be. Should you do this? Hell yes! And for the record, none of the beauties featured here are models. These are all nurses, moms, attorneys, executives, pilots, and babes who took a leap of faith and loved their experience.

Once you book your session, you will receive a prep guide outlining everything you need to know to prepare for your shoot: where we are located, parking, what to bring for wardrobe, how to prepare your skin and hair, ideas for your looks, everything! After reading, Brynne will schedule an optional pre-shoot consultation with you to help calm your nerves and answer any more questions you may have.

On the day of your shoot, you'll park, come in to the studio, be greeted by the team, then sit with Z'dra or Cynthia in the glam station. You can then tell her what you want done and she'll get to work. While she's primping you, Brynne will pamper you with a glass of bubbles and we will all chat and get to know each other. This is often my favorite part of the shoot as we learn all about each other!

Once you are done getting beautified, you and Brynne will look through your wardrobe pieces and our studio pieces to choose the order of outfits together.

Last thing we will do before the shoot is have a quick chat about how the shoot will go! I'll show you some of my posing tricks, and demonstrate some of the things I will say to pose you so you know what I'm talking about. I'll also show you examples of prints, albums, wall art and other options for your images.

The shoot will then fly by! Brynne gives detailed directions for EVERY pose so all you have to do is listen then be amazed by how gorgeous you can really look in the lens.

After the shoot you can pack up and Brynne will tell you what to expect about receiving your images and products.

At Backroom Boudoir, I strive to offer an empowering and luxurious experience without breaking the bank. As the sole owner and operator, I handle everything from your session to the final, professionally retouched photos, eliminating the need for extra staff or outsourcing. I keep my costs low by avoiding expensive advertising and partnering with trusted printers who deliver top-notch quality at incredible value. Unlike many studios that inflate album prices by 400%, I believe in honest pricing that reflects that everyone should have a chance to do this. My mission is to make boudoir photography accessible while maintaining exceptional quality and care.

Backroom Boudoir will never use your images online or in marketing if you don't want them used. Your safety and comfort is our number one priority.

Your images will also never be stored on the cloud or any online space. All of your images are stored on local encrypted drives. Your online gallery is a delisted gallery, that is encrypted and password protected, and all gallery images will be deleted after 6 months.

Should anything ever happen to your images or you want to review your images again after your gallery has been removed, just email Brynne and she can upload them all again for you.

Yes! One friend is welcome as long as this is a friend who will give you nothing but positive words, and kindness (and may be willing to hold up a reflector). 😉

Most clients end up spending around $900 and installment plans are offered for any package.

Once you have chosen a date, a 25% deposit is required to secure it. The deposit is non-refundable and can be paid via credit card when booking online. The session balance is then due on the date of the photo shoot and can be paid by cash, Zelle, or credit card.

Payment plans are available if you'd like to pay in installments. We are extremely flexible with however you'd like to make this dream a reality!

Backroom Boudoir believes that boudoir should celebrate the woman and her femininity above fashion. We provide simple and elegant options that any client can use in studio including sheets, robes, and sheer blouses. Of course implied, partial, and full nudity are options as a look.

We do not provide lingerie pieces, but can direct each client on pieces to bring to achieve their desired look. Items to consider: a sexy dress, stilettos, matching bra and panty, garter belt and thigh highs, a bodysuit (teddy), a shirt from your partner's closet, wedding accessories if this is a bridal shoot (garter, veil, etc.), and jewelry. When you book, your prep guide will have more wardrobe ideas and links to some online and local retailers should you want to shop. However shopping for lingerie is completely optional.

Hair and makeup artists provide one look prior to the shoot in our studio. If you would like multiple looks throughout your shoot, please inquire about pricing. You can meet my artists here. Z’dra and Cynthia both have many years in the industry working on celebrities, TV, films, music videos, magazines… you name it!

After your shoot, your images will be processed and sent to you to choose your favorites for retouching. Once you choose your images that you'd like in your album or wall art you can expect to receive them digitally in about 2 weeks. A week later your products will be delivered to your doorstep!

Rush options are available if images or products are needed sooner than 3 weeks from your shoot date.

Retouching is a special part of the process where Brynne will make you look like YOU, but on your best day ever! No blemishes, no scratches, no bruises, but we’ll NEVER make you look like an alien version of yourself.

You see a lot of photographers these days go overboard on removing skin texture and some that might change the shape of your body without permission. (Yuck!) We will never do that to you.

We are a body positive studio that strives to help you find joy in your own skin. But if you want a little oomph you are welcome to request it, we won’t tell. 😉

Once a deposit has been made, sessions can be rescheduled at your discretion as long as the rescheduling is taking place more than one week from your scheduled shoot date. Should an emergency arise and a last minute reschedule needs to happen less than one week prior to your shoot date, you will be given one courtesy reschedule. No shows will forfeit their initial deposit, late rescheduling and rescheduling more than once may require a $100 fee.

You are more than welcome to bring your partner to participate in some (or all) of the shoot. There is no additional fee to add your special someone to your session. Just make sure to mention it at booking. And yes, Backroom Boudoir is proud to serve everybody regardless of gender or sexual orientation. 🏳️‍🌈

Refer a friend and you BOTH receive $50 off! Your friend receives $50 off of their package and you receive a $50 credit to another future shoot, additional retouched images from your session, or printing through my store. No limit to how many credits you can earn. Make sure your friend mentions your name when booking to receive the credit.
